THE effects of Brexit will drip feed into Britain's economy and culture for years to come.

I have yet to see evidence of any positive results.

One far-ranging negative effect will surely be on British farming. Many British farming experts to Europe have tariff-free access. Many of the fruit and veg pickers come on a seasonal basis, as has probably happened through history. If costs rise, will this affect wages? Also, would you want to work in a country which is developing a reputation for racism?

Fruit and veg growing is transferable and there is surely a risk of farmers moving operations to EU areas.

There are many EU regulations which are vital for helping wildlife and the environment. Removing support and regulations could devastate British countryside and wildlife.

Farming income has already shrunk as cheaper food prices chop agricultural earnings. We could see farms go out of business.

Wherever possible, I always buy British produce. I would hate to see my choice of British foodstuffs reduced. A large number of EU nationals are keeping our hospitals running. Does Boris want them to go or is it a pick and choose. Racist abuse appears to be raising its ugly head.

Meanwhile, I am represented abroad by Brexit Boris. He will share his base, Chevening, or Brexit Towers, a 115 room mansion, with fellow Bexiteers David Davis and Liam Fox. Depressing thoughts drift through over what awful ideas they will cook up over the next regressive years.
