A YOUNG Bolton brainbox featured in the opening episode of a national television programme about the country's cleverest children.
12-year-old Sharon Daniel, from Westhoughton is one of 20 youngsters competing for the title of Child Genius 2014, which is being televised on Channel 4.
The Bolton School pupil was not heavily featured in tonight's opening episode, but we did see her scoring an impressive 12 points in the mathematics test, which was more than double the score of some of her fellow contestants.
Viewers will have to wait until next week's episode to see if Sharon has made it to the next stage, where just 15 children will remain in the competition.
