Sainsbury's has sparked a likely supermarket fuel-price war by slashing up to 5p a litre off the cost of its petrol and diesel.
The new prices will take effect from tomorrow at all the company's 294 forecourts, including in Trinity Street, Bolton, Cricketer's Way, Westhoughton, and Parsonage Retail Park, Leigh.
Sainsbury's head of fuel Avishai Moor said: "Fuel is a big part of the weekly budget for many households, which is why we're taking the lead and cutting the price of petrol and diesel by up to 5p a litre.
"We always aim to offer our customers the very best value on everything we sell and our latest drop means that millions of motorists across the UK can save money when they fill up with Sainsbury's."
