THE death of a woman who was found with fatal stab wounds in her chest is now being treated as non-suspicious, police say.

The North West Ambulance Service called police to an address on Lord Street, Tyldesley, after a woman was found with stab wounds at about 4.30am on Wednesday.

Police said that when they arrived they found a 43-year-old woman with stab wounds in her chest.

She was taken to hospital where she died a few hours later.

A 47-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without charge.

A Home Office post mortem proved inconclusive and police have concluded that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

Police said a file will be prepared for the coroner.
