TWO indie bands will play a gig in Bromley Cross to raise money to help provide clean water in Africa.

Lime Chase and Absolute Zeros will be at the Railway Venue, Chapeltown Road, on Thursday evening in aid of Dig Deep.

The event has been organised by a group of university friends to raise money for the charity which works with rural communities in Kenya to access water and sanitation.

It will be the first time Sharples band Lime Chase, who played at last summer's Transplant Games opening ceremony, and Bolton band Absolute Zeros, will have appeared at the venue.

Organiser Roisin Begley, who attends Bangor University, said: "A group of us from university are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and it's part of the fundraising."

They will take part in the Dig Deep Kilimanjaro Challenge in August and September.

The first band is on stage at 9pm and tickets cost £3 on the door.
