DESPITE running the risk of sounding like a broken record, the picture on the A666 does look very similar to yesterday.

Due to those roadworks, traffic travelling out of Bolton on St Peter’s Way is building between Moses Gate and Kearsley.

Delays are likely if you are taking this route, with the traffic continuing onto the M61 southbound at Kearsley Spur, junction three, up to junction one of the M60 at the Swinton interchange.

Elsewhere in Bolton, Salop Street remains closed after yesterday afternoon’s building fire at The Shakespeare Foundry.

The road is shut in both directions between Shiffnall Street and Bridgeman Place, and there is no estimated time of re-opening while investigations take place. Traffic is coping well.

Elsewhere, traffic is slow as usual in the East Lancashire Road eastbound, in the roadworks in Astley.

Queues are particularly bad between the Queens Arms traffic lights, on Chaddock Lane, and the A575 Walkden Road junction.

On the M60 anticlockwise cars are moving slowly in the usual places – between junction 18 for the M62 at Simister Island, and junction 13 for Worsley.

There is also congestion being reported around Salford Quays, at the junction with the A5063 Trafford Road.

Other than that, if you are planning to drive into Manchester city centre be aware Princess Street is closed southbound after a sewer collapse yesterday.

There is no estimated time of reopening for the one way street, which is currently shut between Cross Street and Mosley Street for emergency repairs to be carried out.
