A HEARTBROKEN bride desperately wants to find a £1,200 watch she gave to her husband a year ago on their wedding day.

The Raymond Weil Tango watch was lost in The Swan in Bradshawgate last weekend.

Ruth Bates is desperate that the watch, which she presented to new husband David after completing their nuptials, is found.

The pair, who live in Breightmet, are celebrating their first anniversary on Sunday.

Unless a Good Samaritan in Bolton comes across the watch and hands it in, it will be missing when the couple toast a year of marriage on May 24.

Mrs Bates, aged 30, said: "I bought it for our wedding day and it is our anniversary on Sunday.

"I am desperate to find it before then.

"We were just on a night out and I can only think that the clasp has come loose.

"It is an expensive watch but that's not the reason I am so keen to find it. It has great sentimental value to me and my husband. No other watch would be the one he got on his wedding day."

The Raymond Weil Tango watch was bought from Goldsmith's in Manchester's Trafford Centre, and given to scaffolder Mr Bates on the wedding day in Preston.

It has not been seen since the early hours of the morning on May 10 in Bolton.

Mrs Bates, who works in marketing and admin, said she has walked around Bolton, visiting jewellery dealers and pawnbrokers in the town centre, who have said they will keep an eye out.

She added: "It would mean everything to get it back.

"It's a long shot, I know, but if anyone's memory is jogged we would be so grateful."

Mrs Bates said she is going for a spa day as an anniversary treat — but she is keeping her "fingers crossed" she will be able to celebrate it all the more if the watch is found.
