A TEENAGER had his leg broken in two places in a suspected hit and run in Bolton town centre.
The 19-year-old man was crossing Marsden Road, close to its Deansgate junction, when he was hit by a black car, possibly a 4x4.
The driver stopped briefly before escaping the scene in the direction of St Georges Road.
Paramedics took the pedestrian to hospital where he was treated for a broken leg.
The incident happened at about 8.15pm on Thursday, July 2.
PC Dennis Delve, from the Road Policing Unit, said: “The victim in this incident was seriously injured and ended up in hospital. The driver of the car that hit him didn’t even stop to see if he was ok.
“We are keen to speak to any witnesses, particularly anyone who may have a dash camera fitted to their vehicle that may have captured the incident or the moments prior to or after the collision."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and quoting log number 2338 02/07/15 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
