WHEN it comes to supporting each other, the children at Sharples Primary School are always ready and raring to go.
The school held a Green Day to raise money for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital which cares for Katy Speak, a popular pupil.
Katy, aged 11, was born with a complex cardiac and lung condition and requires regular hospital care.
Mum Rose Berry said: "Katy was born with a complex cardiac and lung condition and requires regular hospital treatment.
"This winter has been particularly difficult for Katy and as a result she has spent a long period in hospital.
"All the staff at RMCH have always provided wonderful care and Katy wanted to say a big thank you by helping to raise some money.
"All her friends and the teachers at Sharples primary school kindly agreed to help Katy with this task by holding an own clothes day where the children where asked to wear green clothing — the charities colour."
Children at the school swapped their school uniform for all things green in return for a £1 donation.
