PUPILS were given the red carpet treatment as they said goodbye to school at their end of year prom.

Years 11 to 14 at Firwood High School in Farnworth donned their best suits and dresses to impress at their special party.

The children were the stars of the show at the glitzy ceremony as they went up the red carpet while a 'paparazzo' photographer snapped away.

Then they were offered reception drinks and a two-course meal before enjoying entertainment from a band and DJ.

Prom organiser and teaching assistant, Donna Killeen, said: "We've been doing the prom for about six years now and each year it gets better and better.

"Some of our students are going to Bolton College while others are going on to Bolton employability which we are really proud about, so they got a proper send off. It's a real privilege to organise the event for them — they deserve to be the stars of the show."
