A DRIVER escaped unhurt after his car’s engine burst into flames in the early hours of Saturday.
After noticing smoke coming into the car while he was driving home along Tonge Moor Road at around 12.15am, the man pulled over to the side of the road and saw flames coming from the engine bay.
Fire crews from Bolton North attended the scene, and reported that the engine had been badly damaged in the blaze.
