A MAN involved in a road accident in Bolton tried to steal officers’ sandwiches – while sat in the back of a police car.
The incident came to light after officers tweeted about the attempted theft.
The would-be ‘butty thief’ was the victim in the car accident.
GMP Traffic tweeted: “Top tip! Don't try stealing the officers’ sandwiches whilst in the police car. Victim of RTC in #Bolton just tried it #PoliceButtyThief.”
It is not known where the car crash happened.
