A former star of The X Factor and I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here is to open Bolton’s first trampoline park.

Jake Quickenden, a contestant on the ninth and eleventh series of The X Factor and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2014, will officially open Air Vault, at Wingates Industrial Estate in Westhoughton, on Saturday, October 17.

Andrew Caldwell, of Active Entertainment Ltd, the company behind the new venture, said: “We’re delighted to announce that Jake will be officially opening Air Vault.

“After months of hard work, we can’t wait to open to the public and having Jake there on Saturday certainly adds that extra bit of star quality.

“It’s fair to say news of his visit has caused great excitement on social media and we’ve been inundated with entries for our Facebook competition so far.”

Fans of the 27-year-old singer - who is dating Danielle, daughter of superbike racer Carl Fogarty who he appeared in the I'm a Celeb jungle with - are being offered the chance to win an exclusive VIP ‘Meet and Greet’ in a competition on Air Vault’s Facebook page.

Active Entertainment Ltd has spent £400,000 transforming an empty warehouse into the state of the art trampoline park.

The new facility features inter-connected trampolines, angled wall trampolines, tumbling trampoline lanes, curved and double-curved trampolines, dismount platforms, foam pits, slam-dunk basketball hoops, a dodgeball court and a separate area for parents and toddlers.

Andrew added: “Trampoline parks are a relatively new phenomenon in the UK and we firmly believe Air Vault is going to be a major asset for the borough.”

Air Vault officially opens to the public on Saturday at 10am.

The official launch party takes place between 12pm and 2pm.

As well as a guest appearance by Jake, there will also be a trampoline stunt demonstration by a team of Free Runners.
