A DAMBUSTERS flight experience and falconry feature among the top 20 once in a lifetime experiences favoured by Boltonians.

A report based on just under half a million unique searches on intotheblue.co.uk revealed the adventurous inclinations of the town’s residents.

Compiled by the company over more than three years, between January 2012 and September 2015, Into the Blue found the most searched-for experiences by their site’s users.

Perhaps owing to its proximity to the preserved East Lancashire Railway, the top search by far among Bolton’s residents with 15 per cent of all unique searches was ‘steam train’ – relating to a range of engine driving and rail tours available across the country.

Another popular search was ‘Dambuster’, which relates to experience packages for various aerial flights over Derwent Reservoir, where the famous 617 squadron trained for their exploits during the Second World War.

Elsewhere, adventurous Boltonians searched for quad biking, helicopter lessons and skydiving, while perfume making and Segway riding featured among the more laid-back activities.
