Fail to stop

A FARNWORTH man has been given a suspended sentence after admitting failing to stop after an accident and for refusing to provide a specimen.

Mark Hughes, aged 44, of Albert Road, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months, following the incident in Chorley New Road on October 17.

He has also been banned from driving for 18 months and must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.

Bolton magistrates also ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £80, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Offensive phone call

A FARNWORTH man has been fined after admitting making a grossly offensive phone call to a woman.

Jordan Martin, aged 22, of Dyson Close, was fined £100 by Bolton magistrates and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Mobile phone theft

A GREAT Lever man must observe a curfew after admitting stealing a mobile phone.

Dwayne Parkinson, aged 27, of Holme Street, was sentenced to a community order and must observe a curfew from 7pm to 7am for 12 weeks.

He was ordered to pay compensation of £500, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £180 by Bolton magistrates.

Prolific shoplifter

A PROLIFIC shoplifter has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Jonathan Lynam, aged 49, of Cheriton Drive, Breightmet, stole groceries from the Co-op in Bolton worth a total of £204 on six separate occasions between June 15 and August 9.

Bolton magistrates sentenced Lynam to 16 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months, and must complete a drug rehabilitation requirement.

He must also pay compensation of £42, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Stolen goods

A MAN must pay more than £1,250 in court costs after being found guilty of receiving stolen goods.

Westley Crabtree, aged 30, of Moss Bank Way, received a stolen bicycle worth £3,500 and was found guilty following a trial at Bolton magistrates court.

He was ordered to observe a curfew from 7pm to 7am for 12 weeks, and must pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £250 and a criminal courts charge of £1,000.
