MAGISTRATES have jailed a man who threatened to kill a woman in Facebook and phone messages.
Wesley Southern, aged 25, of Highfield Road, Farnworth, had admitted resisting police but denied sending the messages between October 11 and 14 and possessing a knife in public.
He was found guilty of the offences following a trial during which magistrates heard how Southern was very drunk when he was caught with the knife in Albert Road on October 15.
Southern was jailed for 26 weeks and must also pay £1,480 in costs and charges.
