Tendayi Darikwa returns at right back in an otherwise unchanged back four.
In midfield, George Boyd replaces Scott Arfield and Fredrik Ulvestad makes his first start of the season ahead of Joey Barton.
Up front, Rouwen Hennings partners Sam Vokes.
Middlesbrough have made seven changes, but still field a strong team.
David Nugent returns to the line-up after suspension.
The former Clarets striker has nine goals against Burnley.
Other Boro changes include Tomas Mejias for Dimi Konstantopoulos in goal, Tomas Kalas and Fernando Amorebieta in the back four for Emilio Nsue, who scored the winner for Boro at the Riverside in the recent league meeting, and Ben Gibson.
