Shoplifter ordered to pay Aldi after theft

A SERIAL shoplifter has been given a community order.
Jonathon Adamson, of Gargave Avenue, Johnson Fold, stole £41.49 of meat products from Morrisons in Lea Gate, Harwood, on April 7.
He also made off with £44 of coffee from Aldi in Trinity Street in Bolton town centre on February 27 and £45 of coffee from the same store on March 12.
He admitted three counts of theft at Bolton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. 
The 40-year-old was given an eight-week community order that includes an electronically-monitored 7pm to 7am curfew.
Adamson was ordered to pay a total of compensation of £89 to Aldi, a victim surcharge of £60 and court costs of £85.

Woman gets night curfew

A FARNWORTH woman has been sentenced for attacking a man.
Lorna Copeland, aged 23, of Bradford Road, assaulted the man in Gigg Lane, Bury, on October 11 last year and admitted the offence to Bury magistrates on April 21.
Copeland was sentenced to a curfew, which means she must stay home from 9pm to 6am every day except Friday and Saturday until June 15.
She must also stay away from the man for at least six months and pay £210 fines and court costs.

Driver in court over speeding

BREAKING the temporary speed limit on the M62 led to a Heaton man appearing in court.
Hetan Ajwani, aged 27, of Chorley New Road, was driving a Seat car near Rochdale on July 19 last year when he broke the 50mph speed limit in place during long-term roadworks.
He admitted the offence to Bury magistrates on April 20 and was fined £80, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
Three penalty points were added to Ajwani's driving licence.

Driver with no insurance or MOT on M61 banned

A MOTORIST who drove on the M61 illegally has been fined and disqualified from driving.
Sheryar Khan, of Nebo Street, Daubhill, drove his 2006-reg Lexus IS220 northbound on the motorway close to Junction 3 at Kearsley on January 11.
He originally denied the offences of having no insurance and having no MOT.
But he changed his pleas to both at Bolton Magistrates' Court on April 13.
The 23-year-old was sentenced back at the same court on Tuesday. 
Khan was banned from driving for six months and was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £35 court costs.

Angler had no licence

AN ANGLER who was caught fishing without a licence at Bradshaw Fishery on September 20 last year has been fined by magistrates.
Simas Armonavicius, aged 30, of Chorley New Road, Lostock, pleaded guilty to committing the offence.
He was fined £80 and was ordered to pay £147 in costs and charges.

Conditional discharge for assault man

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for 12 months after he admitted assaulting a woman in Bolton.
Daniel Newall, aged 26, of Holly Avenue, Worsley, initially denied committing the offence on November 8, but changed his plea to guilty when he appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court.
In addition to the conditional discharge he was ordered to pay £100 in costs and charges and a restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim or going to Carfield Avenue, Little Hulton.

Phone call pest spared jail

MAGISTRATES have spared a man jail after he admitted making multiple abusive phone calls to a woman in Bolton
Alan Wyncoll, aged 30, of Worsley Road, Eccles, admitted harassing the woman on March 1.
At Bolton Magistrates' Court he was sentenced to six weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months and was ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activity.
He must also pay £165 in costs and charges.

Man jailed after bottle attack

A MAN who assaulted a woman and damaged her window has been jailed for 16 weeks.
Bolton magistrates heard Shane Green, aged 37, of Nelson Street, Little Lever, was drunk and used a bottle as a weapon when he attacked the woman on March 13.
He pleaded guilty to committing the offences and was ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.
A restraining order was also made banning him from contacting his victim or going to Davenport Street, Bolton.

Angler fined for no licence

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £80 after he admitted using a rod and line at Bradshaw Fishery without a licence on September 20.
Thomas Haywood, aged 25, of Rawson Road, Bolton, committed the offence last September. He was ordered to pay £147 in costs and charges.
