A MASS street brawl ended with one man being stabbed and seven people arrested.

Police reported that a fight spilled out into the street after an argument at a house in Stand Lane, Radcliffe, at 8.35pm on Monday.

A 34-year-old man was stabbed in the incident and taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary.

A police spokesman said that they had not yet identified the weapon used in the incident, and added that the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Two of the attackers fled the scene, while the others returned to the house.
Seven people were later arrested by police.

Stand Lane was partially shut late on Monday night because of the incident, as police conducted searches in the surrounding area.

Officers remained at the scene, which is opposite the New Life Church, on Tuesday morning and questioned neighbours about what they had seen.

One neighbour, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “It’s very sad to hear what has happened – I hope the man isn’t too seriously injured.

“This is not the sort of thing you want or expect to happen here, outside of people’s homes.”

Another local resident added: “I heard the sirens and saw the police tape along the road.

“There was a lot of shouting going on, but we only know about what happened from social media. I hope that the man recovers quickly and that this doesn’t become a regular thing around here.”

A North West Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed: “We were called to Stand Lane at 8.38pm on Monday to a patient that had been involved in a fight. We attended the scene and the man was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary.”

Local residents and business owners reported that they had heard arguments at the house, which had led to a fight that then spread outside.
