PUPILS at Oxford Grove Primary School are celebrating after raising more than £1,500 for the Stroke Association in May.
The school, in Halliwell, got behind the charity’s annual awareness month by hosting a series of fundraising activities, including a pyjama party.
A school spokesman said: “A number of children at Oxford Grove have experienced the impact of stroke in their families and are we are therefore very proud to have raised so much money for the Stroke Association. We hope this money will help to save lives and prevent strokes happening in the future.”
Pupils were also visited by a charity representative for an awareness session, where they learnt how a stroke can affect a person’s brain, as well as how to spot the symptoms of a stroke.
