AN audience were moved to tears at Bolton Schools’ Music Festival after a poignant performance from pupils.

Children from St Thomasson Memorial School delivered a powerful performance in sign language on Thursday night.

The primary school pupils performed to Frozen’s Let it Go and the Glee cast version of True Colours.

Val Deary, chairman of Bolton Schools’ Music Association said: “There was quite a few tears in the audience after St Thomasson’s performance, it was really quite special.

“And it was another great night by the conductors, who brought everyone together and the participating schools.

“The performance by Bolton Youth Harmonies was beautiful and I think really showed the children what progress they can make if they continue signing.

“It has been such a good week.”

School’s that performed on Thursday night included, Sunning Hill Primary, Our Lady of Lourdes and Washacre Primary with songs such as California Dreaming, I Believe I Can Fly and a Disney Compilation from Castle Hill Primary.

Last night 12 schools were involved in the finale instalment of the 48th schools’ music festival.

The participating school’s were: Bishop Bridgeman C.E, Church Road, Leverhulme Community, Markland Hill, St Andew’s, St Catherine’s, St James, St Mary’s, St Stephen and All Martyrs C.E, St Teresas R.C and The Gates Primary School.

And a guest performance was featured by the New Century Strings.
