TRAFFIC came to a standstill in Bolton town centre following a face-off between a lorry and a bus.
The two vehicles came to a standstill opposite one another outside McDonald’s on the corner of the A676 Deansgate and B6024 Bath Street, at around 10.30am this morning, July 27.
Each vehicle was unable to progress with the other blocking the way on the tight corner.
An eyewitness said: “There was a big traffic jam outside MacDonald’s after a bus coming from one direction and a lorry from the other got stuck. Both didn't want to move and caused havoc.
“Both went to a standstill telling the other to move. Both drivers jumped out and words were exchanged. Finally the bus driver moved back to let the lorry driver pass.”
No-one was injured in the incident. It’s unclear whether there were any passengers on the bus at the time.
Traffic has now returned to normal.
