A MAN was arrested on suspicion of assault after another man was hospitalised following an incident at a property in Horwich.
Police attended a property near the Nisa store, Chorley New Road, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, July 26.
An eyewitness reported a disturbance at the flat the preceding Sunday night.
The eyewitness said: “The people in the flat were arguing and shouting on Sunday night. Four young lads were kicking the door when I went to the top of my street. They ran off and they had a baseball bat.”
A police spokesman said: “Police were called shortly after 12.30am on Tuesday 26 July to a property on Chorley New Road, Horwich to a report of an assault.
"Officers attended and a 54-year-old man was taken to hospital to be treated for head injuries, after being punched in the head.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 20 assault and remains in police custody."
