STAFF, children, parents and governors of Grosvenor Nursery School, in Kearsley, said a fond farewell to teacher Denise Cox.

Mrs Cox took early retirement at the end of the academic year.

Mrs Cox has dedicated nearly 16 years to the young children in her care and their families.

She began her working life as a special care baby unit nurse at Warrington District General Hospital,before becoming a nursery nurse and she decided in 1994 to go to Edge Hill University to train as a teacher.

Mrs Cox says she is now looking forward to spending more time with her family, including her new little baby granddaughter, Jemima, who was born just 11 days ago, to her daughter, Elizabeth.

She also has two sons in Australia, as well as granddaughter, Isabella, with whom she also hopes to be able to spend some more time.
