PLANS are afoot for a unique boutique in Bolton.

Entrepreneur Richard Edghill is hoping to bring a little glamour to the town centre with a new business.

The 49-year-old former rugby player has plans on opening a boutique selling women's and men's fashion under the title Sev7en.

His chosen location is former shop Ye Olde Wench & Trinkets, which neighbours the Ye Olde Man and Scythe Pub in Churchgate.

He said: "I fell in love with the building, there's a bit of heritage there.

"I didn't want to look at London or Manchester for open something like this, it had to be Bolton. I'm a Bolton lad, I was born in Chorley Old Road and my family are from here.

"It was a massive coup for me getting this building as it enhances what I'm selling. A lot of women's and men's stores in Bolton are normal retail stores all selling the same thing. This will have maybe two pieces which are the same or just one-offs. You can pick up a to-die-for dress and be the only person who has it.

"It will be a unique store in the heart of Bolton."

Mr Edghill, who played rugby league in West Yorkshire and Cheshire in the past before going on to working in businesses sales, plans to team up with Manchester and London-based fashion designer Vicky Martin to showcase her designs in the store as well as an indepedent jewellery range.

Ideas include customers being able to book private viewings of the collection and providing unique wedding wear for the Asian community.

However, not content with just Bolton, Mr Edghill also wants the store to be a flagship for a global brand.

He adds: "The plan is to open by the end of 2017. It's a long-running plan.

"The reason for calling it Se7en is that Bolton will be one of seven stores. We've then got London, Amsterdam, Paris, New York and Barbados - because that is where my family are from. This will be over seven to eight years.

"There will be a lot going on but it's exciting."
