This week I have chosen a beer from the long established Salford brewery, Hydes. A Golden Ale style beer, Break Out(4.5%), that was their limited edition brew for the month of April.

The beer was golden-coloured in presentation with a fluffy, beige head; it really did look most impressive as it gently settled down on the bar.

Pineapple, lemon, light, bready malt and soft floral notes were all identified in the fresh, inviting aroma.

Juicy lemon , pineapple and light, floral feature again in the fruity, zesty, bittersweet flavour. There was also a hint of a grassy note identified too.

More citrusy hop flavours are evident in the tangy, long lingering finish.

Break Out was a most refreshing and thirst-quenching beer. A full-flavoured and well balanced ale. In exceptional condition at the Hydes-owned, Commercial, Harle Syke, Burnley.
