If it was good enough for the makers of Doctor Who it would work nicely for a group of Bolton film makers.

The Bolton News: Filming off Belmont Road, 1971

In 1971 the would-be cinema moguls used a disused quarry off Belmont Road as the backdrop for their science fiction film complete with lunar landing module and astronauts.

The film makers were Bolton School pupils David Southworth and Nigel Campbell, both 17; Michael Southworth, 15, and Paul Hampson, 18.

Did the film ever get completed? Has anyone ever seen it? If you were one of the film makers, get in touch and tell us more.
