A man has pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour after an incident at Horwich Library.

Anthony Norris, aged 32, appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court yesterday

Norris, of Beatrice Mews in Horwich, was arrested by police yesterday, January 8

Police were called and the 32-year-old man had been arrested and charged. 

A police spokesperson said: "The man charged is Anthony Norris (01/05/1991) of Beatrice Mews in Horwich, Bolton

"He appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court where he was remanded on conditional bail until his hearing on February 20 at around 10am." 

Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court confirmed that he pleaded guilty to an offence of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress. 

They also confirmed the hearing on February 20 will be a sentencing. 

Officers from the Horwich neighbourhood team responded to reports of a male causing a disturbance at a community group which was taking place within Horwich library.

In a statement police said: "The male was arrested and taken into police custody where he was charged and remanded overnight to appear at court."
