Get ready to laugh this January with the third production of the season from Farnworth Little Theatre.

A Comedy of Tenors, is the amusing sequel to Ken Ludwig’s 1989 Tony-winning Lend Me a Tenor which was presented by FLT back in 2014.

Set in an elegant 1936 Paris hotel suite, the play continues the story of renowned Italian opera tenor Tito Merelli and his sassy wife, Maria, as well as short-tempered producer Henry Saunders and his long-suffering assistant, Max -now a world-renowned Tenor himself.

With wild accusations, misunderstandings and mistaken identities taking place in one hotel suite playing host to four tenors, two wives and three girlfriends, what could possibly go wrong? Alongside multiple plot twists and turns, the answer is … everything!

Local actors take to the stage including Peter Scofield as Saunders, James Haslam as Max, Natalie Crompton as Maria, Dean Lane as Tito, Lauren Quigley as Mim, Ethan Browne as Carlo and Lisa Barlow as Racon.

Director, Jason Crompton commented: “The cast have been brilliant during rehearsals, pounds have been lost with all the running around but it’s been so much fun. Thanks must go to our unsung heroes at Farnworth who are just an incredible dedicated team. From sound, lighting, wardrobe, set building, publicity, ticket sales and stage management, nothing is too much trouble.”
