The stage is set for a nationally regarded comedian to bring the house down at a charity fundraiser in Bolton

Jason Manford will be playing local charity Endeavour Project's Stand Up to Domestic Abuse fundraiser event on March 15.

Running from 12pm until 4pm, the event will be hosted by fellow comedian and his brother, Colin Manford, and will also include music, entertainment, drinks and a three-course lunch.

'The Great St Patrick's Day Out' will be held at the Bolton Stadium Hotel, and is sponsored by VM Family Law.

Angela Gray, head of fundraising at Endeavour Project, said: "I've worked with Jason in the past, and Colin is very supportive of the work that Endeavour does.

"When he mentioned it to Jason, it was something he wanted to be involved in. Their mum, Sharon, also regularly volunteers for us.

"It's a family thing, and Jason being involved brings it round. It is The Great St Patrick's Day Out, and they are all Irish too.

"And as we have said - let's all stand up to domestic abuse."

She added: "We give domestic abuse support for people affected by it. We are a community-based charity and the money goes back to supporting our families who in emergencies flee with nothing.

"Kettles, toasters, slow cookers, all new beds, toys for children, and we also do counselling. We were also the first charity in the UK to foster pets for victims of domestic abuse, and it is all free.

"It is big that the charity has got Jason to come to Bolton, we considered Manchester but I thought we should keep it here, our home."

Three tables are still available at the fundraiser, but they have been going quickly.
