Market Street, Westhoughton, 1959
A quiet day in Westhoughton in 1959.
This photo shows Market Street with just a lone cyclist on the road. On the left is the sign for the Victoria Hotel, then a Greenall’s pub and just behind it is a sign for a fish and chip shop.
Does anyone remember the fish and chip shop or any of the businesses on the right hand side of the picture? There looks to be a chemist’s on the corner and Bullough’s hardware shop.
