Residents have voiced their concern after police launched a murder probe in Bolton.
Officers were called to Barton Walk in New Bury on Tuesday evening to a concern for welfare. Upon arriving, they found a 37-year-old man dead.
Police arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
He has since been released on bail.
One resident said: “It is very scary, I have been here just short of eight years and have been happy, but now I don’t feel safe.
“It has not been that rough since I’ve moved here until this, although other people who have lived here longer say it was previously."
Another resident said: "I'm shocked, you just don't expect it do you?
"It is quiet, you don't know anyone, you don't see anyone.
"But you do still see people milling around with hoods up and cars parked that you don't recognise."
One other resident added: “It is a little bit scary as it’s close to home.”
A police spokesperson said: "At around 6pm on Tuesday, March 5, officers responded to a report of a concern for welfare at a property in Barton Walk, Bolton.
