A string of big name companies have moved to a commercial park just outside of Bolton.

In total eight new companies have now set up offices on Parklands, just next to Middlebrook Retail Park.

Also joining them have been telecom provider Firstcom Europe and delivery firm Parcels2Go.

Firstcom Europe director Steve Pacitto said: “For Firstcom Europe the move to Parklands has offered us the perfect base from which to grow our pan-European business.

“The facilities are second to none with access to easy connections and an array of amenities that are very staff focused.

“We are a Bolton business at heart so it's great to be able to expand across the continent from our natural home.

“As we continue to grow as a business it feels like Parklands is a location that can grow with us.”

The surge in leasing means that the Parklands 1B building is now fully let, with Firstcome Europe, Future Electronics, Serious Injury Law, and Dalkia all having secured floors.

There is also now only limited space left in the Parklands 1A building, where Jangro, Natwest, NEU and Parcels2Go now have spaces.

The company behind Parklands, Orbit Developments, say they believe its location just off Junction 6 on the M61, with Middlebrook and Horwich Parkway station just next door is ideal.

They also say the recent refurbishments like a brand-new coffee lounge and Peloton Suite/fitness suite have helped attract the surge in tenants.

Parcels2Go head of operations George Iveson, whose company moved to the parklands last summer, agrees that both the transport links and office facilities have been key.

He says that he has noticed an increase in staff returning to the office since moving there.

Mr Iveson said: “Having moved into Parklands in August last year we have thoroughly enjoyed our time so far, the area is a vast improvement to our previous location, particularly the excellent facilities.

“The excellent transport links were a major factor in our decision to relocate here.

“We are now also seeing a higher percentage of staff return to the office due to the positive feeling the building generates.”
