A new 'eggs-citing' production is coming to Bolton this Easter — oh yes it is!

SS Simon and Jude Amateur Dramatics Society is staging Humpty Dumpty for all the family to enjoy after finding a new home after a devastating fire destroyed a primary school - and the stage they perform on.

The fire broke out at SS Simon and Jude's CE School, with pupils now housed in high quality temporary accommodation, and the award winning theatre relocating to Trinity Methodist Church, Farnworth.

The new production is the seldom performed pantomime written by Alan P. Frayn.

All is well is in the village of Over-Eggingham - that is the until the egg falls off the wall — will the King’s horses and his men be able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again or will the evil Egg-Nog ruin the day?

The society says that this 'egg-ceptional' family-friendly entertainment will have "you coming out of your shells and laughing at the “yolks” and antics of all the zany characters as you travel to Nursery Rhyme land, Outer Space and even the Circus!"

Families can enjoy the jokes, singing along with the song sheet and booing the villain.

Stella Crank from the theatre company said: "It is ideal for the school holidays so come along and support us in our new venue where we hope you will enjoy the magical experience of live theatre."

The panto is showing on April 4, 5 and 6 at 7.15pm with a matinee at 2.30pm on Saturday April 6 at Trinity Church, Market Street, Farnworth BL4 8EX.

Tickets are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/SSSJADS priced at Adults £8, concessions £5 and Family Ticket at £20.

Over the last nine months, SSSJ ADS, an award-winning community drama group, has had to adapt and make several changes following the devasting fire which destroyed S.S. Simon & Jude's primary School. This had been the Society's much-loved performance venue for well over 50 years. However, disasters can often inspire new ways of working, and as it will now take at least 3 years whilst a new school building is constructed, we have relocated to Trinity Methodist Church, Farnworth where we hope to attract new audiences as well as those loyal followers who have kindly supported us over the years.

For our 2024 Easter production we are pleased to present "Humpty Dumpty" an egg-citing new version of this seldom performed pantomime written by Alan P. Frayn. This “egg-ceptional” family-friendly entertainment will have you coming out of your shells and laughing at the “yolks” and antics of all the zany characters as you travel to Nursery Rhyme land, Outer Space and even the Circus! This may be a new pantomime but it still contains traditional elements such as laughing at the rib-tickling jokes, singing along with the song sheet and booing the villain. It is ideal for the school holidays so come along and support us in our new venue where we hope you will enjoy the magical experience of live theatre.
