More than £10,000 was raised in a charity's on-going effort to 'Boot Out Breast Cancer'.

A Ladies Lunch was held at Rivington Hall Barn and was dubbed as a brilliant affair that not only celebrated the community but also showcased an ‘unwavering commitment’ to battling breast cancer.

More than 250 people attended the event hosted by Hugh Ferris which provided a mix of entertainment, fun, and philanthropy, raising an impressive £10,510.

All funds raised from the event are earmarked for vital equipment for the Royal Bolton Hospital, adding to the £117,000 already donated by Boot Out Breast Cancer to the facility.

Panos Pikoulas, an NHS Breast Surgeon at Royal Bolton Hospital, addressed the audience at the event.

In his heartfelt speech, Mr Pikoulas shed light on the significant impact Boot Out Breast Cancer has had on the breast unit at the hospital.

The event also included a range of entertainment with performances from five drag queens; Barb channelled Dolly Parton, Narcissa Nightshade embodied Cher, Chanel O'Conor who performed Madonna’s hits, Rosie Zinfandel stunned the room as Lady Gaga, and Vin Dicktiv performed Freddie Mercury songs.

There was also a raffle, tombola, heads and tails game, and the ‘guess the name of the Boot Out Bear’ and stalls that included jewellery, clothing, skincare products, and teddy bears.

Boot Out Breast Cancer has announced the date for next year’s Ladies Lunch, set for April 3, 2025.

Founded by Debbie Dowie after her own diagnosis in 2009, the charity aims to ensure that men and women receive the best possible care, regardless of their location within the UK.

Through events, donations, and community support, Boot Out Breast Cancer has made significant contributions to the enhancement of breast cancer treatment and awareness.
