A new bubble teashop is set to open in Astley Bridge this spring bringing, say managers, unique flavours for boba fans to try.
Alexander Dodd and Alencin Ryder from Manchester will open their first bubble tea shop, Bobaburst, on May 1 on Blackburn Road, Bolton.
Bobaburst is billed as an upmarket bubble tea shop with a huge selection of bubble teas, coolers and desserts.
Alexander said: “We have been cracking it for a year to research new flavours and this is our first shop ever and we thought Bolton would be amazing place to launch.
“We’re hoping to push specials and classics like the 99p flake ice cream bubble tea - boba with vanilla milk and loads of cream.
“They’re really colourful and we also have healthy alternatives in fruit-based ones.”
One of the specials is an Oreo milk tea, fresh with Earl Grey tea and real oreos while the 99p flake drink was Alencin’s idea.
On why they chose Bolton as the perfect spot for their shop, Alexander said: “We live close to Bolton and have friends around here, so we have known the area really well.
“Astley Bridge has a very young community, and we want to stand out with people walking around with them.
“I have been passionate about tea, coffee and bubble tea for over a year, and it’s been an experience to craft an amazing drink.”
“We have been looking for a while to do this and were really looking for something to do and we love it.
Alexander and Alencin designed the shop themselves, from the shop counter to the drinks.
Alexander said: “We created the drinks step by step and the 99p flake drink was my wife’s idea.
“I tasted it and said we have got to have that.

“I can’t keep one out of my hand most days and at the moment, I’m a matcha man and love my brown sugar matcha milk tea and that is one of our specials too.”
Bubble tea is a sweet milk drink usually made with any type of tea and then added with tapioca pearls.
Bobaburst will have matcha, Earl Grey and regular black assam tea and customers can make their own.
The shop will also serve traditional tea and drinks without boba.
