Greater Manchester Police (GMP) escorted an abnormal load this morning.

Officers were assisted by the motorcycle unit in Bolton, which meant that a closure was in place for a short period.

Once the abnormal load was moved, police then took it on De Havilland Way before joining the M61 southbound.

An abnormal load means that a vehicle exceeds certain dimensions, which means that local authorities or the police may need to be informed if this is the case.

GMP Traffic posted on social media platform X to make motorists aware.

A spokesperson for GMP said: “With assistance from the GMP Motorcycle Unit, they escorted this abnormal load out of Bolton this morning.
