NEIL Lennon is expecting another tough examination of his team when Wanderers travel to Charlton tonight.

The Whites boss was encouraged by his side’s display at Birmingham as they earned their first away win of the season in his first game at the helm.

He hopes for more of the same at The Valley but knows they will need a similar display of grit and character against an Addicks side that lost in the league for the first time at the weekend and have impressed him with their positive start to the campaign.

Lennon told The Bolton News: “They have new owners who I know a little bit about from Standard Liege so they are going to get quite a few decent players in from the Belgian market I imagine.

“Bob (Peeters) has made a tremendous start there.

“The last few years Charlton have been sort of struggling in this division but they look like they have been galvanised this year.

“Some of the football they have been playing has been excellent.

“To go unbeaten until Saturday was an excellent start so we are under no illusions how difficult it’s going to be.”

His opposite number, Peeters, meanwhile is taking nothing for granted despite Wanderers position in the Championship’s bottom three.

And he believes Lennon will turn fortunes around at the Macron Stadium.

Peeters said: “As far as I know Bolton is still a big club.

“They are struggling at the moment but when you look at the history of Bolton, if you speak about Bolton abroad, they talk about the Premier League and the good days.

“A few times already this season we have played a team who is struggling and they appointed a new manager.

“I think they will be ready for us, a team struggling with a new manager, and we know him as a very passionate manager, so it will be a tough game to try to beat them.”
