BOLTON Hockey Club's fourth team maintained their bid for promotion with a 4-0 victory at Urmston.
Mark Bolton scored two with Luke Halsall Hart and Chris Lord adding the others on a difficult surface.
The men's third team ended fears of relegation with a 1-1 draw at home to Bury while the men's second team lost their last away game of the season 7-3 to Cheetham Hill.
Damien Pearse put Bolton ahead with a straight strike from a short corner before conceding three quick goals.
Pearse reduced the deficit when he drove at the hosts' defence and slid the ball past the opposition keeper before Cheetham Hill added a fourth just before the break.
Sean McGovern's strike from a short corner again pulled Bolton back to within one goal of the home side who then stepped up a gear with three more unanswered strikes.
