HORWICH motorcycle racer Malachi Mitchell-Thomas is sixth in the British Superbike Superstock 600 Class after two rounds.
He finished 10th in the second race of the series on the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, earning him six points to add to the excellent 11 he gained at the first round at Donington.
He continuously improved his times over the three days from the initial free practice through two qualifying sessions, and the warm-up leading up to the race.
He placed himself on the sixth row of the grid in 18th position and certainly had his work cut out.
The race had to be re-run after an accident on the first lap involving several riders which resulted in two riders being airlifted to hospital.
Mitchell-Thomas said: "It was a very difficult weekend for us and I am happy we came out of it with some championship points.
"All we can do is look forward to Oulton Park (over the early May Bank Holiday weekend) and try to make up on some lost ground."
