KISHAN Patel led Bolton Sixth Form College to victory against Myerscough College Cricket Academy.

Bolton College batted first and made an excellent solid start with Zac Wilson (36) and Kishan Patel (16) combining in an excellent opening partnership and with a late flurry from all the middle order Joe Gatenby-Brown (16), Darshan Varsani (15) and Joe Ducker (16) gave Bolton a fighting chance with 160 from their 25 overs.

Myerscough College in reply lost a wicket in the first over with the wicket keeper batsman Holt being run out for nought without facing a ball, however the innings then gained momentum in aggressive style with runs coming quickly until Patel broke up the partnership of Foden and Slater trapping opener Slater lbw for 10.

Myerscough College lost wickets at regular intervals but a middle-order partnership of between Turner (36) and Magnam (35) put Myerscough back in the game and looking the likely winners.

In a very tight enthralling finish Bolton 6th Form College at the end bowled with determined accuracy and Myerscough College were bowled out for 149 leaving Bolton victorious by 11 runs. Kishan Patel was the pick of the Bolton’s bowlers with 3-18 runs and was rightly adjudged man of the match.
