A TALENTED Horwich teenager has brought home a gold medal from the Spennymoor 1-1 competition.
Matthew Brindle, aged 14, who attends Rivington School won his fight in 10 seconds in the first round.
Coach Rachel Salt said: "He is an extremely motivated young man. He is currently waiting to see if he will be picked for British Taekwondo Talent Pathway."
Brindle is trained by Salt who fought for Great Britain for nine years and was undefeated British champ for 13 years.
She also got back.in the ring last week in The Ultimate 1-1 competition in Barnsley for the first time in 16 years and won a fight against an experienced player.
Kicks Taekwondo are based in Chorley and have classes in at the Fairview Community centre in Adlington.
Salt added: "We have only been going six months and are already seeing great results. We are part of a bigger club Horizon Taekwondo based in Bradford and surrounding areas."
