WANDERERS under-18s lost to West Yorkshire opposition for the second time in five days when they went down 4-3 at home to Huddersfield Town yesterday afternoon.
In their second home game of the Under-18 Professional Development League Two campaign, David Lee's side looked good again going forward but were made to pay for lapses at the back as the young Terriers edged a seven-goal thriller at the Eddie Davies Academy at Lostock.
Danny McKenna got the first Wanderers goal when he arrived at the far post to meet Ronaldo Pearson's cross before the latter got on the scoresheet himself when he slid home from 10 yards after good link-up play with Alex Samazideh.
Samazideh then got amongst the goals with a long-range shot from outside the box.
But the three goals were not enough to earn a second league win of the season.
Lee said: "We had the better of the game, scoring three very good goals.
"The squad are in good form, scoring good quality goals with some excellent phases of play.
"The development of the exciting forward talent is pleasing as it's the hardest part of the game.
"They are developing their skills and techniques very well.
"But we do have to become more resolute when defending.
"We are conceding too many goals through a lack of decision-making and concentration."
Lee's side are at home again on Saturday when they host Brentford.
