TWO Bolton clubs brought home nearly 20 medals from the British Junior Wrestling Championships in Welshpool recently.
Sharples Wrestling Club took 10 wrestlers to the competition returning with six gold and two silver medals while Bolton Olympic Wrestling Club brought home five golds, three silvers and four bronze.
Lewis McGrath, Kelsey Barnes, Malachy O'Rourke and Harvey Ridings all retained their British titles from Sharples while they had two new British champions – Saffron Clegg and Ellis Crossley.
Kelsey Barnes and Harvey Ridings wrestled again within a week of their international performances after winning two silvers for Great Britain in Latvia and won gold in Wales
Zach Brown took silver just like he did earlier in the year at the English Junior Championships which were held in Bolton.
Also, Josh Moore took silver in his first British Championship with an impressive display with one loss out of his four matches.
Meanwhile Bolton Olympic Wrestling Club had an impressive tally of 11 medals out of 12 competitors.
Declan Fisher, Molly Winstone, Freya Johnson, Jack Costello and Harry Meadows were all crowned British champions.
While, Mark Johnson, Cameron Leader and Harvey May were runners-ups in their categories.
Nathan Livesey, Lucy McGrath, Tommy Costello, Arin Sekirden all earned podium spots while Blake Fisher was fifth.
