THERE will be 16 teams in the annual Bolton Cricket League indoor competition.

With the Bolton League expanding from 14 to 21 clubs next year, it means a record entry for the competition which is approaching its 40th year.

Five of the clubs who are switching from the Bolton Association to the Bolton League following the expansion will get an early taste of what's in store next season.

Egerton have won the competition for the last three years and their move to the Greater Manchester League means they are no longer eligible to play in the Anthony Axford-sponsored indoor competition which takes place at Bolton School.
