ASTLEY and Tyldesley captain Jimmy Cutt was delighted to have “the best seat in the house” as Australian Joel Brockley served up a treat against Worsley.

The overseas batsman knocked 110 not out off 103 balls, while skipper Cutt scored 29no from the 98 deliveries he faced.

The opening duo lasted 32.3 overs as they achieved Worsley's target of 172-9 without the loss of a wicket to wrap up a comprehensive 10-wicket win in Division One of the Greater Manchester League.

New Zealander Chris Ware did the damage with the ball in the first innings taking 6-23.

And speaking of spending the entire innings with Brockley, Cutt said: “The two overseas players (Chris Ware and Joel Brockley) are good lads. I just sat and watched from the best seat in the house.

“It was a poor start to the season. We lost our first three games but it seems to be picking up now and we have won our last two.

“I don't think the start was down to anything in particular, probably just your standard injuries and unavailability.

“Hopefully now we will be able to kick on and get back to where we want to be."

Meanwhile in the Premier Division, Egerton eased past former Bolton Association side Flixton.

Luke Perry scored 41 and Adil Baig knocked 61 as the Lawrence Road side posted 204-6. Will Halton did the most damage with the ball taking 4-60.

Sandun Weerakkody starred with the bat in reply scoring 107 as Egerton secured the win with the loss of only four wickets.

Elsewhere, Edgworth struggled to chase a 215-8 target set by visitors Glossop.

Adam Syddall top scored with 23 but the Glossop bowling attack, led by Mark Usher (3-34), dismissed the Bolton side for 122 – 93 runs short of the target.
