KAIYNE Woolery has been challenged to use his explosive pace to help Wanderers escape League One.

Phil Parkinson rates the 21-year-old flyer as one of the fastest movers he has ever coached but admits his unique talents have been hard to integrate into his tactical plan.

Now, short-term fitness worries over Zach Clough and Max Clayton have put the spotlight firmly back on Woolery to provide something different in the Wanderers attack.

And after an encouraging performance last weekend, Whites boss Parkinson believes Woolery could be starting to find his niche in the side.

“I was really pleased with him in the second half against Fleetwood because he did what he does well and that’s running in behind the opposition back four,” he told The Bolton News.

“I think the team have got to learn to play with him and he’s got to learn to play to his strengths.

“He has got something which you can’t coach, raw pace. And he is one of the quickest players I have ever seen – and he can finish.

“He’s a great lad and he just needs to develop that understanding about what we want him to do week-in, week-out.”
