WANDERERS Under-18s picked up their first U18 Professional Development League victory of the new campaign with a 3-2 home win against Leeds United on Saturday.

After opening the campaign with draws at QPR (2-2) and at home to Cardiff City (1-1), the young Whites extended their unbeaten start against their Yorkshire rivals.

The side began brightly and scored three first-half goals without reply from Luca Navarro, Cameron Moore and Dennis Politic.

The visitors scored early after the interval and then doubled their account from the penalty spot with 15 minutes remaining.

But Wanderers held on for all three points.

Under-18s coach Nicky Spooner was pleased with the display and told The Bolton News: "We started very bright, attacking at pace and scoring three goals in the first half.

"In the second half we missed lots of good opportunities.

"But overall it was pleasing with some players asked to play in different positions due to injuries."

The u18s are back in action on Saturday when they visit Huddersfield Town.
