Teenage karate champion Penny Massey has added to her medal collection after more success in the Welsh Karate League.
The Westhoughton 13-year-old picked up three gold medals in her own category 2 in Kata and one in Kumite, along with a silver medal at under-16 level in Kata.
Penny, who trains at the English Karate Academy in Warrington, competes again this coming weekend in the second competition of the Welsh League.
Mum Nicole said; “We have a few more to win as she attempts to win the Welsh Karate League.
“Penny is all in for it and she will compete in a series of competitions and should finish around November time.
“She is really excited about it all. It took her a bit to come back from covid, but she’s back and has hit the ground running.
“She has trained since she was four-and-a-half years old and her dream is to compete at the Olympics.”
