A string of burglaries and attempted burglaries have reportedly been carried out, with footage circulating online.

Police say they believe this has happened recently in the Astley Bridge area but that the footage has not yet been shared with them.

An investigation is now underway, and officers have appealed for anyone with access to the footage to send it through to them.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “The Bolton North Neighbourhood Team are currently investigating a number of burglaries/attempted burglaries in the Astley Bridge area.

“We are aware of footage being shared on social media that shows a male in the area last night but some of this footage hasn't been shared with the police.”

As yet no further details have been released about the location in Astley Bridge where the burglaries and attempted burglaries are believed to have taken place.

It has also not yet been confirmed if anyone other than  the man in the footage is believed to have been involved.

But anyone who has access to the footage has been asked to send it through to police by emailing it to boltonnorth@gmp.police.uk.

Anyone with any other information or concerns can call police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
